The areas hiked are populated with
extensive Australian Wildlife. By day many Australian animals can be
seen wandering through the bush including the Eastern Grey Kangaroo,
Wallaroo, Echidna, Wombat, Swamp Wallaby and the rare Brush Tailed
Wallaby.
Bird life include many different Parrots and Cockatoos as well as the: Kookaburra, Cuckoo, Martin, Fly Catcher, Thornbill, Honeyeater, Wood Swallow, Peregrine Falcon and the majestic Wedge Tailed Eagle. Reptiles include the Mountain Dragon, Blue Tongue, Eastern Water Dragon and Goanna. The area has a diverse snake population including the spectacular Red Bellied Black Snake, Eastern Brown, Copperhead, Death Adder and Tiger Snake. By night Brush Tail, Ring Tail and Gliding Possums can be seen up in the trees, along with Boo Book Owls and Tawny Frogmouths. |
