Day 1 - You will join the 10:17am train departing from Sydney Central station to Gosford, which arrives at 11.34am. Our first meeting is at the high side of Gosford Station. We then head off to have lunch (included) on Bullimah Spur and spend the afternoon walking around the spectacular scenery of the Australian Central Coastline. This night is spent at Terrigal Beach with access directly on the picturesque beach.
Day 2 - After breakfast we then visit Aboriginal rock art including kangaroo and emu rock engravings and caves with hand stencils. We also say hello to the local wildlife which includes Emus, Kangaroos and Wallabies. After lunch we commence our 3 hour drive to the Barrington National Park. Arriving at Dungog, we spend the afternoon settling into the hotel. Then it is off to dinner and an early night.
Day 3 - Following an early breakfast it is time to start our ascent of "The Corker". Starting at Lagoon Pinch, we slowly make our way through an ancient rainforest, keeping an eye out for Koalas on the way, up to Governor's Lookout for some morning tea. It is then onto the "Enchanted Forest" - the most magnificent Antarctic Beech Trees. Next it is into the sub alpine areas of the tops with lunch on the way and finally over Aeroplane Hill onto "Chateau Junction Pools" where our crew has set up camp for the night. It is time for a juice/cold beer/glass of wine and a superb "silver service" dinner with songs and stories around the camp fire. Total distance covered on this day is around 12 miles (18km).
Day 4 - Up early for bacon and eggs and it is time to head across Edwards Swamp and make our way to Careys Peak and weather permitting, the spectacular 100 mile view. We then head down to the vehicles and back to our accommodation for celebration drinks and dinner. Total distance covered on this day is around 12 miles (18km).
Day 5 - After a leisurely breakfast (included) we then head back down the coast to Gosford. Lunch (included) is provided on the way, with a scheduled mid afternoon return to catch the train back to Sydney Central Station.
Heritage accommodation, many meals, all activities, transport to and from Gosford station.
This adventure combines the best of the Australian coast and the mountains - it is as good as it gets for people wishing to see the very best New South Wales has to offer.!
