This club was started by me, Derek Skillings in 2009. NH is an awesome place to live.  The mountains in NH have inspired a new love for something I never experienced when I was younger. I remember hiking Lafayette with my dad and sister and telling them, "I love hiking so much I'm going to hike for the rest of my life."  The past February, of 2011, I bagged my 48th peak with two special people.  That was a great day.  Thus far, the hikes have mainly stayed in the whites, but bigger mountains are in the future. Mt Rainier is on the radar for September, 2011.  Luckily I have found a new passion, the mountains, in my backyard. I try to get up north as often as possible. Solitude in the woods is a great feeling, but sharing it with others is always a special time.

I work for Skillings & Sons Inc, a family owned water well contracting company in Amherst, NH. Geothermal heating and cooling, well drilling, water treatment, and pump services are some of the duties this company performs. Skillings & Sons is a leading provider of geothermal well drilling in the New England area. They have adapted with the industrial trends in home building, and innovations in heating and cooling methods to remain a common household name for contractors, home owners, and businesses.
